Akseki is a district of Antalya

The former name of Marla (Marulya), Akseki was founded in 1286 on the Taurus Mountains. It is known that societies have lived since the Roman Empire in the district which went into Seljuk and Ottoman rule. Akseki, who left Alanya in 1872, became an independent banner within Konya Province in 1901. In the meantime Akseki district narrowed its borders and some villages were left to Seydişehir district. Ibradi was originally a town, but in 1991 he left the town to Akseki.

Karaöz Municipality In 1994, Pınarlı Municipality was established in 1999. Based on the article 4 of the Law on the establishment of districts and amendments to some laws within the boundaries of the Metropolitan Municipality dated 06.03.2008 and numbered 5747, the legal entities of Aksu, Pınarlı and Yurtpınar first level municipalities were abolished and joined together with their neighborhoods. Aksu District was established in order to change the name of Çalkaya Municipality to Aksu. According to 2015 data, Aksu population is 68.496.

In the region where the Mediterranean climate prevails, significant amounts of vegetables and citrus fruits are produced. Aksu County is an important agricultural district with a share of 20% in citrus production, a closed greenhouse production and a share of 30%.

The city was captured by the Anatolian Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat in 1221. Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat married the daughter of the feudal lord Kyr Vart and rebuilt the city and made it the winter capital. He changed the name of the city to Alaiye. During the reign of Alaaddin Keykubat the city lives its brightest days. Today's castle, shipyard, and still standing in many of the structures belong to that period. As a result of the disintegration of the Anatolian Seljuks in 1300, the city is dominated by the Karamanoğlu Principality. Konya-based Karamanogullari sells the city to Egyptian Mamluk Sultanate in 1427 for 5,000 gold coins. With the establishment of unity in Anatolia and the prominence of the Ottoman Principality, Alaiye was included in the territory of the Ottoman Empire in 1471 by Gedik Ahmet Pasha, one of the commanders of Fatih Sultan Mehmet.     

During the period of the Ottoman Empire, Alaiye was first bounded by the province of Cyprus in 1571, and in 1864 by the province of Konya. In 1868, the city of Antalya and the city of Antalya in 1871 is made. The Republic takes the name of Alanya together with Atatürk's proposal.
